To no surprise most men find shopping for Christmas gifts especially for women as painful as migraine. However, the worst gift I ever heard of was an aquarium filter, a self-supporting torch and a washing machine. Come to think of it the last one started divorce proceedings between these lovely couples. And the aquarium filter turned up at my fish tank when I announced that my aquarium needed a bit of cleaning.

Thankfully my husband realized that women does not always want what they need when it comes to Christmas presents and more importantly luxury and indulgence always gets the upper hand to usefulness and practicality.

Unless you are thinking of buying your own gift and then handing it on to your husband to wrap it and present it back to you, you can never guarantee that what you will see when you open the box is what you will like. However, it may be more bearable if you can carefully fabricate what you want to a particular situation and make sure he hears it. A simple comment like how big and heavy your hand bag is and how you are thinking of replacing it may in fact trigger his thought of getting you a handbag.

Giving your husband a hint is mandatory if you want to a gift that you may like. Try to look for an opportunity to pass the message. This may be while watching a television programmer or a dinner out with friends. The nature or intensity of hints will depend on how fast your hubby can absorb the message. Leave the magazine page open that features what you want for Christmas. Try to find an opportunity to speak it out loud as to how much you would like to have it; anything that will convey the message clearly that this is what you like and this is what you want.

The fact of the matter is that most of us woman does not want to spell out what we want rather we would leave it all to him and reward him for any thought out gift to our likings. Instead of having his sister finding out the perfect gift for you and buying it on your behalf, it is worth encouraging his to do the shopping himself with a well briefed idea as to what you desire.

Above all else you can remind him how this Christmas would be a great day for everyone if there are gorgeous gifts to unwrap.
